We operate a range of downhole imaging and geophysical tools, including optical and acoustic televiewers, natural gamma, resistivity and full waveform sonic. We can also produce interpretation reports of the data collected.
Acoustic and optical televiewers.
We run the latest generation of orientated downhole imaging probes: the acoustic televiewer (ATV, QL40ABI-2G) and optical televiewer (OTV, QL40OBI-2G).
Borehole imaging can be used alongside or instead of core logging, since a continuous high quality core sample can be hard to get. With a televiewer, clay seams, voids, fractures and unit boundaries are correctly orientated and depth recorded.
ATV
Acoustic image of the borehole wall. Runs in fluid filled holes and sees through muddy water.
OTV
True colour optical image of the borehole wall in clear fluid or dry holes.
Check casing and screens after install.
ATV images can be run inside centred PVC to give you an as-built record of the casing and screen intervals, so you know exactly what went in the ground and where.

Every picked feature comes with depth, dip and dip direction, ready for your geotechnical model or structural analysis.

Natural gamma
Measures naturally occurring gamma radiation. Works in fluid filled or dry holes, cased or open, and can be run with another tool.
Electrical resistivity
Resistivity profiles for permeability, porosity, water quality and formation properties. Four resistivity measurements recorded, compared to two from most other manufacturers.
Full waveform sonic
P and S wave velocities in fluid filled open holes, giving the mechanical properties of the borehole wall. Popular in water, mining and geotechnical work.
Fluid temperature and conductivity
Available by hire. Useful for groundwater studies and spotting inflow zones.
Geological services
Core and soil logging, and drill rig supervision, by experienced field geologists.
